Unlike collagen supplements, bone broth also contains hydrating electrolytes, vitamins and minerals.In terms of bioavailability (absorption) of the collagen, our collagen is not processed like a collagen supplement (for example, a peptide or a hydrolyzed collagen), which makes the particle sizes smaller and therefore easier to digest. However, this does not necessarily mean these collagen supplements are better absorbed. Also, collagen supplements are highly processed and often treated with enzymes, solvents and acids in order to make them into peptides. We have seen a body of research that demonstrates that collagen from bone broth in its most natural form is the best for bioavailability.
